This year has started off pretty good. We’ve had a great, successful Color Battle, Final exams have been good, and we’ve seen some great trailers to great films. Except, which ones are the best, and which movies are worth seeing this year? There may be a lot of them, but we’re counting down four of the best movies coming out this year. So, go grab some popcorn and relax!

  1. The Grinch

The original book by Dr. Seuss has received a LOT of adaptations over the years, some good, and some we wish we could forget, like How the Grinch Stole Christmas from 2000. And this November, we’re getting another adaptation. It’s going to be about The Grinch, who comes up with an evil scheme to ruin Christmas and the residents of Whoville. It will probably not be as good as the original animated film from the 60s, but we’re hoping to get something good. The trailer that we saw was surprisingly really good. It was hilarious, and could get anyone to laugh at least once. The animation was also outstanding!  If you were a fan of the original, you’re bound to enjoy this film.

  1. Christopher Robin

Let’s face it, there’s nobody who doesn’t like Winnie-the-Pooh! He’s probably one of the most lovely and innocent characters of all time, and will be returning to screens in August. The movie tells the story of Christopher Robin, who’s now an adult, and has Winnie-the-Pooh and his friends show him the joys of life. The trailer that was released was amazing! It was well made, the acting was good, and to some, gave people nostalgia. All of this is what audiences want from a Disney film, and if the trailer was as good as it was, we’re all hoping that the movie will be just as good, maybe even better!

  1. Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2

The first Wreck-It Ralph film was a good story, spread a good message, and had a wide variety of exciting characters. And know, those characters are returning in this sequel coming in November. The movie tells the of Ralph and Vanellope, who find a wifi router in their arcade, leading them into the internet. The trailer was actually pretty funny, and has something everyone can relate to. We’re all excited to see Ralph return to the big screen later this year.

  1. The Incredibles 2

The first Incredibles film from 2004 is one of the best Pixar films, no doubt. Critic Margaret Pomeranz says, “It is a simply astounding feat of animation with such attention paid to details.” If the first film was so good, will the sequel be as incredible? So far, we think so. It will tell the story of Elastigirl, springing into action to save the day, while Mr. Incredible faces a new challenge, taking care of his three children. The trailer was pretty good, and gave audiences a good look of what is yet to come on June 15. Pixar did a very good job including things everyone can relate to, and like Christopher Robin, gave people nostalgia. We’re all hoping to see an incredible movie this summer.
