Many people value music and claim that it is very important to them. “According to a new report released by Nielsen Music, on average, Americans now spend just slightly more than 32 hours a week listening to music,” states an article written by Hugh McIntyre, a contributor to the website “Forbes.” Music comes in many different styles and serves different purposes. For example, you can listen to country, pop, classic, jazz, opera, rock, but the list doesn’t stop there; there is an infinite amount of song styles. A great thing about music is that you can listen to music for any reason, whether that is for celebratory purposes or for times when you just want to sulk around. Now we are in the new year, and that means that we are going to learn to love lots of new artists. Here is a sneak peak to the upcoming artists of 2019!

Chloe X Halle
These are two sisters named Chloe and Halle Bailey who are from Atlanta and are slowly being noticed more. They haven’t made any big hits, but their music is becoming more popular. One of their songs were featured in the movie A Wrinkle in Time. Chloe X Halle wrote the song “Warrior,” which was played on the movies soundtrack.

2. Luke Combs
Luke Combs is a country singer-songwriter who is beginning to earn attention. His song that most of the listeners fell in love with was “Hurricane.” Combs wrote it in 2015 and ever since then it has been climbing on the charts.

3. Greta Van Fleet
Three brothers and a close friend from Michigan have stirred up the Rock culture. They have had quite a few hits including, “Highway Tune,” “Safari Song,” and “When the Curtain Falls.” These were all number one hits and were placed on the main rock chart. Greta Van Fleet is expected to make more songs throughout 2019.

4. H.E.R.
Gabriella Wilson has been nominated for the Best New Artist. She goes by the pseudonym “H.E.R.” She is a 21-year-old girl from California who is making headlines with her great music. She is competing with Khalid, Ella Mai, Tiller, and Daniel Caesar in the Grammy’s. Although Gabi has made many songs, her biggest hit is “Focus,” which was gold certified.
