  • Summer is the most thundery time of the year.
  • On a hot day in Paris, the Eiffel Tower increases in height. It is made from iron, so it expands on hot days.
  • The warmest summer ever in the UK was in 2006, where daytime temperatures averaged to 60.44 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • The longest day of the year is on the summer solstice.
  • The Northern Hemisphere in 1816 did not experience summer, since a mountain erupted and the ash covered the atmosphere, not allowing the sun to reach the earth.
  • The Popsicle was made by accident in 1905, by an 11 year old named Frank Epperson, when he accidentally left a cup of soda, and a stirring stick outside. Then, he started selling them, and they became the popular treat we all love.
  • Summertime is by far the busiest time at movie theaters.
  • In the U.S the most popular popsicle flavor is cherry.
  • June 21st is the first day of summer.
  • The last day of summer is on September 20th.
