Cinco De Mayo is a day of fun that many people across the country celebrate. Although many people go all out with festivities and stuff their faces with traditional Mexican foods, most people don’t know exactly why they are celebrating it. Cinco De Mayo is the day that recognizes what happened on May 5, 1862; The Battle of Puebla was a one day dispute between France and Mexico. After everyone thought Mexico would lose, they pulled through and won the battle. In 2005, Franklin Roosevelt helped to make Cinco De Mayo an official holiday in the United States. Because it is an official holiday, it is only fair that we show our spirit with amazing Cinco De Mayo crafts.

1. Decorative Skulls
The supplies that will be needed for this craft includes: a printed mask template, glitter glue, glue, coloring utensils, sequins, and any other craft supplies that you want to add to your creation. This is a very simple decoration, all you have to do is draw and color a pattern on the template and then add the other supplies to your desire.

2. Paper Bag Sombreros
For this craft, you will need the following supplies: a paper plate, a cup, ribbon, hot glue, and pom-poms. First place the cup in the center of the plate and trace bottom of it on the plate. Then cut out this circle, and glue the rim of the cup to the plate with the hot glue. To add a little extra detail to the hat, paint the plate and cup different colors. Hot glue a string from the plate to the pom-pom and then enjoy your brand new, inexpensive sombrero.
