George Washington was born in Pope’s Creek, Virginia on February 11, 1732. Even though his last name was Washington, he never lived there. However, when Britain adopted the Gregorian calendar they moved his birthday to one year and 11 days later, on February 22, 1732. George commanded the Continental Army in the American Revolutionary War. Washington’s farewell address is one of the most used, proud, and celebrated speeches ever. He died on December 14, 1799.
