Did you know that Martin Luther King Jr. Day was declared a federal holiday in 1983? The holiday falls on the 15th of January every year. King was born on January 15th, 1929. The holiday celebrate the acheivments and life of Martin Luther King Jr., who was a Civil Rights leader. He is mainly known for his protest to end racial segregation on public transportation and in the United States. He was also known very well for his “I Have A Dream Speech” which was given on August 28th of 1963. Martin Luther King Jr. was a very influental and inspiring man who led many peaceful protests that changed the world we live in today in a good way.
