Valentine’s Day Craft
DIY Arts and Crafts For Valentine’s Day.

February 2, 2021
Valentine’s Day is a holiday to celebrate romantic love, friendship and admiration. On February 14, people send gifts and messages of love and affection to partners, family and friends. While there are tons of decorations to buy from stores, nothing’s better than a handmade craft because of the thoughtfulness and love that’s gone into making it. Seeing somebody use and enjoy something you’ve created for them can be one of the best feelings. A really fun gift idea to make is a tree with heart initials.
Supplies:
- A Wood Plank, Flat and Round
- Number 2 Pencils
- Different Color Sharpies
- Glitter (optional)
- Mod Podge or Elmers Liquid Glue (optional)
- Fake Flowers (optional)
- Hot Glue Gun (optional)
- The first step is to sketch everything out with a number two pencil. Create a heart shape and put two initials insides with a (+) symbol in between them. Do this lightly, so if you mess up, you can erase it and retry.
- The next step is to trace it over with a sharpie. While doing this, be sure to be very careful because you do not want to mess this up. You are allowed to use any color sharpie you want and write in whatever font. You can make it look messy, or really neat. It is all up to you. You can also add details in this step, add small designs around the heart, like arrows and etc.
- This is the step where you get to design your heart. You can use glitter and mod podge to make your heart nice and shiny. To do so, you must paint a layer of mod podge onto the plank and add glitter to your liking. Once it dries, add another layer of mod podge to secure the glitter and to make sure it doesn’t fall off.
This final step is optional, but can be used if you want your final craft to look very fancy. Make sure there is an adult helping you because this can be dangerous. Gently use a hot glue gun to stick the ends of fake flowers onto the corners of your wooden plank. You can add as many as you’d like. Many people like to use roses because they are a typical flower that is used on February 14th.
And that’s it! In 4 easy steps, this simple craft can be used as a decoration or a gift to anyone on Valentine’s Day. Why spend money at a store when you can do it at home for cheap and you get to use your creativity to make it special.
